When designing a bodybuilding routine there are several factors to take into consideration, lets take a quick look:

* exercise selection 
* training frequency 
* volume

These are the main factors, you then have things like:

* number of sets 
* number of reps 
* rest periods

Now let me start off by saying there is no perfect workout routine, everybody is different and people respond to different things, one of the most important things to learn in bodybuilding is what your body responds to best.

So, I'm going to give you a bodybuilding step by step workout guide. Firstly pick a routine type, the two basics are full body or split, full body you are working your entire body in each workout, split you are working different muscle groups on each day. I want go into the pro's and cons of either but both are effective!

Next you need to pick an exercise selection, there are plenty out there! Make sure you pick a varied selection and remember that it is a good idea to change them around from week to week.

Then we need to decide upon sets and reps, you can vary this depending on the amount of exercises per day your doing. More exercises? Do less sets, less exercises do more sets for example. Rep range is also a consideration you need to make, as rule of thumb the rep ranges to use are:

1-5: Power 
5-8: Strength 
8-12: Hypertrophy 
12+: Endurance

Once you have decided upon all these your ready to go! Remember to train hard and change things around every few weeks so your body doesn't adapt.
